Firm wins plaudits for transformation project
A Ford firm which was awarded a tender to transform a Worthing office building has spoken of its excitement at unveiling the new facilities to tenants.
Warnes Projects, based at the Ford Lane Business Park, has completed the renovation of the Crescent House building, in Crescent Road.scan1
Design Manager Marc Sagoo said “We were very excited to be chosen to transform Crescent House and deliver a renewed and bright space back to such a deserving tenant. The Fry Group has worked from this property for over 40 years and understandably built a connection between their business and the building. It was a pleasure to see the shocked expressions on people’s faces when they walked back into the building for the first time. Many of them couldn’t believe it was the same place”.
The team undertook a complete refurbishment of the building from stripping off old plaster and redesigning the offices, which they said were ‘starved’ of light. A suggestion box was installed for residents’ concerns regarding potential disruptions during the project.
In a letter to Warnes following completion of the project, Richard Butler, of the Fry Group, the main tenant, praised the team for their hard work. He explained how Warnes had been invited to tender after being ‘staggered’ at tenant costs included in the other bids.
He said “Considering the scale of the project and the fact that we had to move out for six months we feel that everything was more than worthwhile now that we are back in what seems like a brand new building.” “The contractors were the most helpful and polite I have ever known – their consideration was even commented on by our auditors, Carpenter Box, which shares the same driveway and car parking area.”
Warnes has been nominated for the Adur and Worthing Business Awards, in the small business category. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on November 13th.
